Bilingual MC for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government!🗼東京都及び東京観光財団が主催のNY観光プロモーションイベントにて、バイリンガルMCを2日間務めさせて頂きました✨

The first day of media and business seminars featured live interviews connecting NYC to Tokyo, exhibitor presentations, performances that blended traditional kabuki from the Edo period with modern ikebana, and an evening reception at the stunning Pier Sixty Collection.

The following full day was for the public at Grand Central Terminal where New Yorkers had the chance to immerse themselves in Japanese cultural activities, participate in fun contests with prizes, and see various stage acts up close. Slide 2 is kabuki actor Sennosuke Kataoka who also stars on-screen including the currently airing Taiga drama. He mentioned his full look weighs over 44 pounds, and the NY audience was in awe of his dynamic yet graceful movements.

Tokyo beautifully balances modernity and tradition, and this event opened my eyes to new discoveries. The photos are by the official event photographers, as well as some of my memories enjoying the old and new in Tokyo. This is your sign to book your next trip to the captivating city!😉🗼🩵

1日目はハドソン川沿いの景色が素晴らしい「Pier Sixty Collection」にて、東京とアメリカから集まった多くの観光事業者によるプレゼンテーション、日本と生中継で繋いだ配信クロストーク、ゲストへのインタビュー、パフォーマンス、レセプションなど盛りだくさんでした。

翌日はグランドセントラル駅でパブリック向けのイベントを開催。スライド②は、大河ドラマ「光る君へ」にもご出演中の片岡千之助さん。20kg以上の重さの衣裳でダイナミックかつ美しい歌舞伎が披露され、NYの観客を魅了して下さいました✨

「江戸時代から受け継がれる伝統 x 革新を続ける最先端のカルチャー」をコンセプトに行われた2日間のイベントでは、日系アメリカ人として日本の血を受け継いでいる私にとってもまた新たな東京の魅力を発見することができた幸せな時間でした☺️

日本へ向かう機内（日系エアラインスライド⑤動画）でのおもてなし、ホテルでの着付け体験、美しく繊細な和食、浅草を着物でお散歩など✈️👘

English-Japanese Bilingual MC for the Prime Minister of Japan! 岸田総理がご出席されたNYでの日米観光イベントにて、今年も日英バイリンガルMCを務めさせて頂きました🇺🇸🇯🇵🎤

In celebration of the U.S.-Japan Tourism Year 2024, The Japan Tourism Agency and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries co-hosted the event during the UN General Assembly week. Over 250 guests from the media, tourism industry, food industry stakeholders, and notable dignitaries from the business and political world attended.
 Special appearances were made by Prime Minister Kishida, Mr. Konishiki, and MYAKU-MYAKU of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. Mr. Konishiki shared very unique insights into Japan’s heritage as the first foreign sumo champion, while the Japan National Women's Karate Kata Team delivered a spectacular performance.

Michelin-starred chef Samuel Clonts prepared exquisite dishes from premium Japanese ingredients, and I particularly enjoyed a heavenly Wagyu sando during my break. Guests also got to explore interactive exhibits showcasing Japan’s culinary excellence, landscapes, and traditional arts.

This event marked Prime Minister Kishida’s final overseas trip, and it was an honor to serve as the bilingual emcee throughout his tenure. It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces again, and my deepest gratitude goes to everyone involved for making this global event a success!
 2024年は日米両国の旅行、観光、文化交流を促進する「日米観光交流年」のため、日本の魅力と観光資源をお伝えするイベントがニューヨークで開催されました🗽  イベントには岸田総理、ミャクミャク（2025大阪・関西万博の公式キャラクター）、そして元大関の小錦さんも登場！ステージでは小錦さんとのインタビュートークや、全日本空手道連盟の日本代表選手によるパフォーマンスで大盛り上がりとなりました。

お料理は現地のミシュランシェフにより、日本を象徴する食材を使ったものが提供されました。休憩時間に頂いた和牛サンドは、口に入れた瞬間あまりの美味しさに感激！ 
日米両国の皆様が心温まる交流をしながら、素敵な日本をより感じることが出来たイベントでした。  岸田総理にとりましては、総理として最後の外国訪問となったニューヨーク。3年間、本当にお疲れ様でございました。

そして、関係者の皆様、スタッフの皆様、今年もありがとうございました✨

YOASOBI's concert & my new Boston fave💜 YOASOBIのコンサート＆最近のお気に入り in ボストン😊

Global J-pop sensation @lilasikuta and @ayase_0404 of YOASOBI made their Boston debut with an unforgettable concert! Their stage presence and live vocals were nothing short of phenomenal, but what truly moved me was the sense of unity they brought.

J-pop was what initially got me into learning Japanese while growing up in the States, so seeing the crowd sing along was incredibly heartwarming. I’ve put together highlights from the concert in the first seven slides to share with you all. 🫶🏻 Thank you @yoasobi_staff_ for a spectacular night!

Speaking of Boston, I recently went to "Mooo...." in Seaport, and their Tomahawk steak and lobster mac & cheese were out of this world! It’s a must-visit on a special day✨

会場にいたアメリカ人達が日本語で一緒に歌っている姿を見て、
私も幼い頃こうやって日本語をJ-popから学んだことを思い出し感動しました☺️ 好きなものから学ぶ力の強さを感じます。

今ではグローバルに活躍する日本人アーティストたちも増え、アメリカでもアニメファンを中心にJ-popは愛され続けています✨

スライド6の「HEART BEAT」では会場全体がが温かい空気に包まれ、ikuraちゃんの生歌はもちろん、YOASOBIの世界観が詰まった素晴らしいパフォーマンスでした🎤🌈

Our first hour-long special episode aired on TV which included exclusive player interviews and filming with the Dodgers, Padres, and Cubs!

Exploring the ballparks with former MLB pitcher Hisanori Takahashi and seeing everything through the players' POV was such a unique experience. Above are some fun snippets and BTS through pics & vids!😄

New episodes will begin airing tomorrow with unreleased footage, and the full episodes will continue to air repeatedly for the next several months on J SPORTS🙌🏻

Super grateful for everyone I had the pleasure of working with, and special thanks to Yu Darvish for kindly gifting the same-design shirt to us after the interview!

Life lately✨ Boston Celtics’ NBA Finals Game🎥☘️ & recent days off! NBAファイナル＆最近の休日☺️

Jaylen Brown and Luka Doncic were crowned as the NBA Conference Finals MVPs, and in a few weeks, one of them will get their first ever NBA ring!

Jaylen was only 21 when I first interviewed him (snippets in slide 2), and now he’s the player with the largest contract in NBA history. How he carries himself has always been an inspiration to me and I’m thrilled for him to get the praise he’s always deserved.🔥

It’s finally warm enough to go out and explore, so it’s been a joy to go on extra long walks with Lia. Time flies b/c she’s turning 10 this month.❤️ Excited for Summer!😊

P.S. The MLB TV show which was originally scheduled to air in May has been postponed to June, but it's now airing across two days🙌🏻 more deets to come✨

NBA FINALSに進出したボストン・セルティックスの試合へ！

今年のカンファレンスファイナルMVPは、東がジェイレン・ブラウン、西がルカ・ドンチッチ✨ 数週間後、どちらが優勝し、NBAチャンピオンとなるのか？🏆

初めてのジェイレンとの対談インタビューの時はまだ21歳の若手選手でしたが、現在はNBA史上最高額の契約を交わした選手に！
映像は当時の15分インタビューの一部ですが、初期から彼のメンタリティーの凄さには驚かされることばかりでした。

ドンチッチ選手はあまり多くは語らないシャイな印象。でもバスケへの思いとその技術力は唯一無二🔥

現時点ではリードしているセルツですが、NBAファイナルは最後の最後まで目が離せません！

そして、ボストン＆NYにもようやく春が訪れました🌸
動画はお気に入りのイタリアン、今年できた人気のハンドロールバー（手巻き寿司専門店）など✨

今月で10歳になるリアも外での長時間散歩が増えて嬉しそう🐶
夏が楽しみです😊
